How to use Changebell

Welcome! Changebell turns your monday.com board activity into a beautiful, public changelog in five minutes. Here’s the full tour.

1. Install Changebell from the monday.com marketplace

Click Add to monday.com. Approve the OAuth scopes (Read/write boards, Read user profile, Manage webhooks). We need these to draft entries from board activity and send notifications.

2. Open the Changebell board view

Pick any product board. Click + Add view → Apps → Changebell. You’ll see the welcome screen with the 3-step setup wizard.

3. Map your columns

  • Status column: which column triggers drafts (usually a Status column with a “Done” label).
  • Done labels: which label values mean “ready to announce”.
  • Category column (optional): a dropdown for Feature/Fix/Improvement.
  • Release group (optional): a group whose name is the version label.

4. Review & publish

The left panel shows items currently in your Done state. The right panel shows AI-drafted release notes. Edit, reorder, then click Publish release. Your public page updates instantly.

5. Configure your public page

Open Settings from the board view header. Set your brand color, logo, and (on Pro) custom domain. Share the URL with your customers or embed the “What’s new” widget on your site.

FAQ

Does AI use my data for training?

No. OpenAI’s API does not train on customer data. You can also turn AI off entirely in Settings → AI.

What happens when I uninstall?

We delete your account data within 10 days (typically within 7). Public pages become inaccessible immediately.

Can guests or viewers use the app?

Yes — viewers and guests see a read-only version of the board view (review and reactions only). Members can edit and publish; admins can configure billing.
